Luz McGoldrick of Fort Frances, ON Wins $25,915!
Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce that the winner of the April Riverside 50/50 electronic raffle is Luz McGoldrick of Fort Frances, ON with the winning ticket number G-1025801. McGoldrick takes home a whopping $25,915, with the same amount going to the Foundation. The draw was made Friday, April 30th at 11:00am in the Foundation Office.
Originally from Chile, McGoldrick and her husband have resided in Fort Frances for the past 5 years. McGoldrick has been purchasing Riverside 50/50 raffle tickets since the first draw as an alternative to attending Foundation events. ‘I thought it was a great way to help the Foundation, and you never know, someone has to win’ she stated. As a manager at the local Canadian Tire, McGoldrick’s first order of business with her winnings was to treat the entire staff of Canadian Tire with a nice lunch. ‘They deserve it’, she stated. Adding ‘Everyone has been working really hard during this pandemic, and it sometimes goes unrecognised’. When travel is safe again, McGoldrick also plans to fly members of her family back in Chile to the area. She looks forward to being able to show them the natural beauty of the Rainy River District.
This raffle marks the fifth straight month in which the prize pot surpassed $25,000. Tickets for the May raffle are now on sale at www.riversidefoundation.ca/5050 and the Foundation is excited to announce some new changes to the raffle moving forward.
Each month will now have a guaranteed jackpot of $5,000, once gross ticket sales exceed $10,000 the jackpot will start to grow. Also new is a $500 early bird prize sponsored by West End Motors and Gillons’ Insurance, which this month will be drawn on May 14th at 11:00 am. All tickets purchased prior to the early bird draw time will be eligible to win the early bird prize, with the winning number going back in the draw for the jackpot. Finally, to give ticket buyers more bang for their buck at the same affordable price, new ticket tiers have been introduced. Tickets will now be 5 for $5, 20 for $10 or 100 for $20. If you prefer to purchase offline, please call the Foundation Office at 274-4803 to make arrangements. Ticket sales close Sunday, May 30th at 9:00pm with the draw taking place Monday, May 31st at 11:00 am.
